successfully acquired Knauf's plasterboard business in Australia, Knauf Plasterboard Pty Limited will become a new member of Etex Building
Performance (EBP).
Knauf Plasterboard Pty Limited was established in 1988. It is a top 3 player in Australia’s plasterboard
market and offers a competitive product portfolio ranging from plasterboards,
metal profiles, finishing compounds to other specialty materials. The company operates three plasterboard plants in Victoria,
New South Wales and Queensland, as well as a metal profile production facility
in Queensland. The company employs over 300 people in total,with state-of-the-art
facilities, strong knowhow and a network of leading distributors and customers.
Earlier
in 2011, Etex also successfully acquired the plasterboard business of Lafarge in Europe and Latin America, and
created the Siniat brand, which means "Shaping the way people build". The fiber cement board
technology with the longest history and most experience under the United Group
has become a global leader in dry construction building materials.
The
successful acquisition of Knauf’s plasterboard business in Australia is an important milestone in Etex’s latest
business adjustment strategic development plan. It will inject great energy
into our continued expansion of the market business in the field of lightweight
and modular buildings. And further consolidate Etex's global leadership in this field.
